Congratulations to Rebecca Cross (200m Breast), Emma Gillingham (200m Fly) and Lachlan Colquhoun (200m Breast & 100m IM) all made new ACT Allcomers and/or ACT Residents Records.

Emma Gillingham 2 Gold, 1 Silver. Ryan Hore 3 Bronze. Amelia Laundenbach 2 Silver. Rebekah McCoy 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze. Jackson Savage 1 Bronze. Gaby Scarth-Johnson 2 Silver. Ashleigh Streatfield 3 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze. Lachlan Webb 1 Gold, 4 Silver. Dylan Weir 2 Silver, 1 Gold.
The following Swimmers all had a 100% PB Rate: Luis Alarcon, Taylah Bacon, Nathan De Meillon, Nadia Govier, Chloe Ironside, Amelia Laundenbach, Jamie McGuire, Emma McIntosh, Katelyn Weller, Milla Wolf, Brendan Wright & Samuel Wright.

Tuggeranong Vikings Top ACT Club at the NSW Country Championships

The Tuggeranong Vikings Swim Club was the first-placed team
from the ACT and finished in 5th overall at the recent NSW Country
Winter Championships.The Vikings
fielded a team of 35 swimmers, with 6 swimmers winning medals and 17 swimmers
overall making finals.
Leading the charge was 10 year old Rebecca Cross who was
named the female swimmer of the meet by NSW Swimming for her haul of 2 NSW
Country Records in the 10yrs age group 50m and 200m Breaststroke events on her
way to 1 gold and 2 silver medals.
Lachlan Colquhuon lowered his own 13yrs 200m Breaststroke
NSW State resident record by a whopping 3 seconds to smash the old NSW
All-comers record in a time of 2.27.33
Lachlan also won the 13yrs 100m Breaststroke in
1.08.60.Lachlan also won silver
in 100m Freestyle, and bronze medals in the 100 & 200 Butterfly, and 400
Medley, as well as making a slew of finals in a very competitive 13-14yrs age
group.
Breanna Gilroy joined the winners podium for the first time
with gold in the 10yrs 100m Freestyle, and Emma Gillingham (11yrs) won medals
in all her butterfly events with silver in the 100m and 200m events and Bronze
in the 50m swim. Emma also set a new NSW Country 11yrs 200m butterfly record, well done Emma!
Ryan Hore, competing as a 15 year old in the 15/O events
scored silver in the 200m backstroke and Medley events as bronze in the 50
backstroke. He also set a new NSW Country 15yrs 200 Medley record along the way
Rebekah McCoy (12yrs) pulled out some impressive PB’s to bag
3 bronze medals in the 100 & 200 Backstroke and 100 Butterfly events as
well as making finals in several other swims. Gabrielle Scarth-Johnson won her
first medal at the NSW Country Championships with a bronze in the 11yrs 50
Backstroke.
While he didn’t win a medal, 11 year old Lachlan Webb sum a
new 11yrs NSW Country 200 Butterfly record by placing 5th in the
12/U 200 butterfly event.
In the relays, every Vikings “A” team made the top-10 with
the 15/O women’s freestyle relay team of Bethany Colquhuon, Bianca Pitts,
Monique Murphy and Ashleigh Streatfield winning bronze.
